Southmead Children's Centre is no longer a registered provider of Early Education Places for 2 Year Olds in Wandsworth.


Two year early education places are available to some families on a lower incomes with children aged two years old. If you meet the criteria you may be entitled to up to 15 hours of free early education for 38 weeks of the year from the term after your child’s second birthday.


The purpose of an early education place is to support your child through the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, which is suitable for very young children as it is designed to be flexible so that staff can follow your child's unique needs and interests. Your child will learn by playing and exploring, being active, helping them develop their creative and critical thinking which takes place both indoors and outdoors.

Families who are in receipt of the following benefits or meet the following criteria may be eligible:


•Income Support


•Income-based Job Seekers' Allowance (JSA)


•Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)


•Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999


•the Guaranteed element of State Pension Credit


•Child Tax Credit


•Working Tax Credit and have annual gross earning of no more than £16,190 per year


•Child has a statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or an Education, Health and Care Plan


•Child receives Disability Living Allowance


•Child has left care through special guardianship, adoption order or residence order
