Southmead Children's Centre strive to support children 0-5 and their families within the community.  

 

Our outreach and parent involvement worker Carrie is available to support Parents/carers or organise any form of alternative support which may be needed.

 

We provide the following courses/ sessions specifically for parents/carers:

 

- ESOL Course (Mon, Thurs 9:15am-11:15am)

A basic English Language course for parents who have very little English language skills. Pre-school (childcare) is provided. (Places to be booked with Sam at reception)

 

- Functional Skills English (Tues 1:00pm-3:00pm) 

A 12 month course to help you develop the practical skills in English that you need to live, study and work. The course will work towards the Edexcel Functional Skills qualification, or the City & Guilds Award in Functional Skills. (Places to be booked with Sam at reception)

 

- Functional Skills Maths (Weds 1:00pm-3:00pm)

A 12 month course to help you develop the practical skills in Maths that you need to live, study and work. The course will work towards the Edexcel Functional Skills qualification, or the City & Guilds Award in Functional Skills.  (Childcare) is provided. (Places to be booked with Sam at reception.)

 

- Parent's Space (Tues 10:45am-12:15pm)

Here you can get involved in the decisions and development of the Children's Centre and take part in workshops and speakers on specific topics.  (Childcare) is provided. (Places to be booked at reception.)

We can also signpost families to other agencies that can help meet individual family needs.
